Bethel – Andrew D. Stambone, Age 65, died 18 December at Danbury Hospital after battling a brief illness.

Mr. Stambone is survived by his wife Helen of 40 years and his three children: Glen, David, and Andrea.

Andy was a proud Veteran of the US Army, where he distinguished himself in Vietnam, earning the Army Commendation Medal and other decorations. After his honorable discharge, he continued to serve the military community as Commander of the American Legion, Post 93 of Port Chester, NY.

As an active member of the Bethel community for over 30 years, Andy dedicated his time as a volunteer of the Bethel Jaycees, where he once held the office of President.

Calling hours will be held this Friday from 5-8pm at the Bethel Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held in his honor at 9:30am this Saturday at St. Mary’s Church of Bethel.
