Jack Warren Rose, 79, of Gaylordsville, CT died Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Bridgeport Hospital surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Queens, NY on April 27, 1944, a son of the late Philip and Edith Rose.
Jack and his wife, Marian, met when they were teenagers working at a chocolate shop. They married in January 1965 and moved to Connecticut in the summer of 1969 where they raised their two sons. Jack and his family lived in the Connecticut communities of Ridgefield, Wilton, and Redding.
Jack loved art and studied package design and graphic arts at Pratt Institute. He started Design Images with his late partner, Max Diamond. He was president and owner of Design Images for over 50 years. Some of his accounts included Gilbert & Bennett, Henckels, Lowenbrau, Playtex and Independence Community Bank. He also designed stamps for foreign governments and loved logo design.
Jack was a great admirer of the artist Henry Moore and was a talented wood sculpturer himself. He loved so many varieties of wood that he was often teased as being part termite. Jack also enjoyed classic cars and kept the ones he owned in pristine condition. He liked shopping for designer clothes and appreciated fine dining.
Jack was very involved in community service. He was a Co-President of the Ridgefield PTA Council and President of the Woodcock Nature Center in Wilton.
Jack kept friendships for many years. Family and friends were very important to him. He was kind, supportive, and generous to everyone. Jack was a caregiver who cared for his parents, in-laws, and brother when they became ill. He was a very involved father and grandfather to his two grandsons.
In addition to his wife, Marian, of 59 years, Jack is survived by sons Matthew Rose and his wife, Heather, of Danbury and Adam Rose and his wife, Alison, of Newtown and grandchildren Matthew Trevor Rose and Garrett Rose-Bishop and his wife, Jamie. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother and sister-in-law Ronald and Sandra Rose.
The family will receive friends at the Hull Funeral Home, 60 Division St., Danbury, CT, Sunday, April 7, 2024 from 10:00 to 11:00AM. A service will be held Sunday at the funeral home at 11:00AM and burial services will be held at Beth Moses Cemetery, West Babylon, NY at 2:30PM.
